The 2010 Grimmys: Infinite Lives Awards

Infinite Lives Award

You just didn’t fit into our game schedule last year, or you came back this year with a vengeance of new content and updates. Either way you may have came out last year, but and we couldn’t put you down this year.

The Nominees

Grimmy WinnerBorderlands – When a game is supported by DLC after almost a year on the store shelves, it has to qualify for this category. And that DLC is pretty good too. Any developer would love to have the success that Borderlands has had over the past year. I hope companies realize the value of Borderlands and use it as a model for some of their great games.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2Modern Warfare 2 is still in the top 5 of the most played multiplayer matches and it came out over a year ago. This after the new Call of Duty sold more than MW2 did the first week it came out. It’s a great game and the multiplayer is definitely what keeps it on this list.

Assassin’s Creed II – After being disappointed by the repetitive-ness of the first Assassin’s Creed, many people held off on playing this one. If you haven’t played Assassin’s Creed II, stop what you are doing and go get this game. It was definitely one of the best games that came out in 2009 and it has some pretty good DLC too. If you consider yourself a gamer, this has to be in your collection, just so you can move on to AC: Brotherhood next year.

Batman: Arkham Asylum – If you ever thought any Batman game released could ever be considered game of the year, you’d be committed along side many of the villains found within Batman: Arkham Asylum. Not only does it have one of the best single player action stories ever, but the Combat and Predator Challenges provide a great experience outside of the main game. Play this game because it’s great and play it before the sequel comes out next year.

Left 4 Dead 2 – Any game with a multiplayer component is bound to last longer than a game without. Left 4 Dead 2 is a first person shooter zombie apocalypse game where you play as a group of 4 survivors fighting their way to safety. It’s any zombie movie ever made, in video game form created by Valve. Supported heavily by DLC the game is still going strong a year after release.
