A June Release for Company of Heroes 2

Just a little more time and the crust will be perfect!

Just a little more time and the crust will be perfect!

I reported last week that Metro: Last Light was going to be delayed and now comes news that Company of Heroes 2, another former THQ property, will be pushed back to June. Producer Greg Williams says the delay is a means of making sure they deliver a “high quality sequel the fans deserve”, which, as far as I’m concerned, is a perfectly acceptable excuse.

If I have a message for video game publishers/developers it’s this: take as much time as you need, bros! There’s no reason to rush perfection and gamers will appreciate the extra polish that comes with extended development cycles. Besides, we have more than enough games to tide us over until then.

Except for Aliens: Colonial Marines. If I had known I was going to get a product that crappy, I would rather have gotten it out of the way earlier, preferably when something else in my life was going horribly wrong so that I wouldn’t notice the years of development that had returned nothing of substance.
