Ever wanted an option to play your favorite 8-bit video game music in the comfort of your own home? Now you can. Well, at least Linus Åkesson can. He has built a chiptune organ that he calls the chipophone. If you don’t know what chiptune is here’s Wikipedia’s definition:
A chiptune, or chip music, is music written in sound formats where many of the sound textures are synthesized or sequenced in real time by a computer or video game console sound chip, sometimes including sample-based synthesis and low bit sample playback.

I don’t know if I would ever spend my time building something like this, but I can’t successfully play any musical instrument either. However, I am grateful that there are people out there who do this sort of thing for the entertainment of us all.
