I’ll always have a soft spot for platforming shooters thanks to games like Contra which was the first game I remember ever being intimidated by its difficulty. Before using the Konami Code, it never felt like I had enough lives to beat the game and when I would survive a tough situation, I could never pull it off twice in a row. The perfect run always seemed out of reach. Super T.I.M.E. Force may have solved my issue in about the most fun way imaginable.
Capybara Games (the makers of Superbrothers: Sword & Swocery EP) have infused Super T.I.M.E. Force with the essence of other classic platforming shooters and added in a unique time manipulation feature. The bad news is that when you die in Super T.I.M.E Force you have to start the level over. The awesome news is that you will start the level over playing next to the ghost of your previous life who will fight alongside of you. Throw in multiple deaths and multiple ghosts and your ghost army may just be enough for you to survive the level in the end. Witness the benefits of many deaths:
While there is no release date for Super T.I.M.E. Force the XBLA release is inevitable as the game won the XBLA Award at the 14th Annual Independent Games Festival Awards in 2012 to win a publishing deal from Microsoft. Here’s hoping the wait isn’t too long or I find my own time manipulation abilities to fast forward to its release.
