Arcade Next Begins for XBLA on April 18th with Trials Evolution, Ends with Minecraft

Arcade Next

Gonna be an awkward title later in the year.

The Xbox Live Arcade promotions must be going well as Microsoft has just announced a new grouping to go along with the House Party and Summer of Arcade promotions. Arcade Next begins on April 18th and seeks to bring another batch of exclusive (at least temporarily), quality (subjective) games to its popular downloadable video game service. We’ve been through this before so let’s get to the important stuff, the games.

The two standouts have to be Trials Evolution and Minecraft. Trials Evolution is the 4 player sequel to the immensely popular physics-based motocross stunt/racing game which just recently crossed the 2 million download mark. Evolution adds multiplayer to the mix and a robust track editing tools. Minecraft barely needs an introduction at this point, but this is the first time the indie phenomenon has come to consoles where it is surely set to find an entire new group of rabid fans. In addition to these two games, two very different hack-and-slash adventure games in Bloodforge and Fable Heroes.

Here is the release date and pricing info for all 4 games featured in Arcade Next:

  1. Trials Evolution – April 18th – 1200 Microsoft Points – Rated E
  2. Bloodforge – April 25th – 1200 Microsoft Points – Rated M
  3. Fable Heroes – May 2 – 800 Microsoft Points – Rated E
  4. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition – May 9 – 1600 Microsoft Points – Rated E
What do you think about the game line up? Would you like to see more or less of these promotions?
