Cheap and Dirty Gamer: Mr. Bree: Returning Home Traps Talking Pigs

Mr. Bree: Returning Home

Looks like a breakfast buffet to me.

Being both cheap and dirty is pretty easy after a Wednesday afternoon filled with beers has you lying in bed cursing both hops and barley. If you’re like me and happen to be in that aforementioned situation, your brain probably isn’t in the mood for complex actions like solving mystery puzzles or negotiating with elven cashiers. That’s why it’s not coincidence that this week’s “C and D” is about a bipedal pig trying to restore his memory and find his way home to his family.

Mr. Bree: Returning Home features the titular Mr. Bree collecting puzzle pieces in order to remember his path home as well as certain skills he forgot, such as jumping and crouching (he’s forgotten quite a bit, but fortunately remembers how to talk and wear a cape). It’s a pretty standard platformer but the art and music are really impressive and I love playing games where the main character is something I’d like to eat. Mr. Bacon, err I mean Bree is also pretty good about providing commentary throughout his journey, which ranges from delightfully humorous to delightfully scary as pigs that talk and walk upright are a sign that perhaps GMOs aren’t all that safe?

Mr Bree: Returning Home action

He couldn't have possibly picked a worse path home, stupid lost memory!

In spite of your views on genetically modified foods, do your digital good deed of the day and help this porker get back to his family. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to make-believe the bologna sandwich I’m about to eat is a pig that was not quite as successful on his journey to see his kin.

Cheap and Dirty Gamer – Being cheap used to be an insult, but with the economy in the dumps it’s now a survival skill. Being dirty also used to be an insult, but that changed after Christina Aguilera’s song came out. Not all gamers have the funds to play full priced games, but that doesn’t mean that gaming quality has to suffer. There are good free and cheap games everywhere, games specifically made for the sexy survivors among us.
