Meanwhile… we’ve actually been playing games. Each week we recap our recent gaming experiences and tell you what we’re looking forward to, so you can use your time more wisely than we have.
I’m very close to wrapping up two titles for reviews. The computer assistance continues to screw me over in the final minutes during every single game of my season of Tecmo Bowl Throwback. In a classic, JDevL move, I stopped playing Halo 3: ODST right as I started the final level. I also dusted off the old DSi and picked up Picross 3D which is, as I feared, just as addicting as it’s 2D predeccesor. On Wednesday, I started Zeno Clash just to see how the console port felt, and I will get back to it after the other games finish. Somehow I still even found time for a few rounds of Halo: Reach and Bad Company 2 multiplayer. Right now, I’m just focused on getting as many games finished before the games of May really hit hard starting next week.
I’ve played a hodge-podge of games this past week. That’s mostly due to the fact that I had Alex Rex 83 and CodeSamuraiX over playing some local MP games one night. Let’s see… we all three played some Turtles in Time Re-shelled, Tekken 6, and Soul Calibur. Alex and I also played a little Ikaruga and Geometry Wars: RE 2 and he introduced me to one of his favorites… some old school U.N. Squadron. On my own I decided to go back and play Red Dead Revolver again before Redemption comes out. I’m about half way through it maybe. That is still a fun game… I’m anxious to see how differently the new one plays. Oh yeah, we also played one of my old time favorites… R.B.I. Baseball! So yeah… like I said… hodge-podgery.
I just discovered that there’s a possibility of a re-make for R.B.I Baseball for XBLA. That’s more exciting than Tecmo Bowl for me! Here’s an awesome, unrelated RBI video that I just stumbled across.
Being out of town this week, I haven’t gotten to play at all, but for the last few weeks I have been completely engrossed in Mass Effect. When the second one came out, I was determined to play through the first before I started that one and I finally got around to putting it in a couple of weeks ago and I can’t play anything else. It’s been all Mass Effect, all the time, for an ungodly amount of hours. I’ve been reading about every planet and doing every side quest. I have a feeling at least another week will look like this too, until I start all over again with Mass Effect 2.
